Susana Chillida’s ‘Una Vida Para El Arte’ Joins Menorca’s Learning Institutions

1 October 2024

A new addition to local schools and libraries, celebrating the artistic legacy of the Chillida family

Following the presentation of Susana Chillida’s book ‘Una vida para el arte’ in Menorca, we have partnered with Escola Oficial d’Idiomes (Mahon and Ciutadella’s language schools), Escoles d’adults de Menorca (Menorcan adults education school) and Xarxa de Biblioteques de Menorca (local libraries across Menorca). The collaboration will involve the donation of Susana Chillida’s memoir in both Spanish—published by Galaxia Gutenberg—and English, released by Hauser & Wirth Publishers, to be included in their winter programs.

‘Una vida para el arte’ (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2024) is a family memoir in which the author pays tribute to her parents by tracing Eduardo Chillida’s professional career and highlighting the pivotal role of Pilar Belzunce. The narrative is enriched with personal and familial anecdotes, while Susana Chillida also sharing her reflections on her own journey as both an artist and the daughter of an artist.

The book will be available at all libraries within the Xarxa de Biblioteques de Menorca from mid-October.
