Creative Workshop: Screen Printing Posters

  • Sat 16 September 2023
  • 12 – 4pm

Participate in a series of creative workshops led by LA-based artists as part of ‘Now or Never’ – an Education Lab created on the occasion of Mexican-German artist Stefan Brüggemann’s first solo exhibition in LA and in response to the artist’s desire to make a space to explore ideas.

This month’s all-ages creative workshop is led by Self Help Graphics & Arts, the LA-based organization dedicated to the production and distribution of print media by Chicana/o and Latina/o artists. Participants will learn how to create a handmade stencil with their own designs using card stock and cutting tools. The artist educators will help participants through the design and cutting process before printing the designs via silkscreen. Designs will be printed as posters with vibrant inks.

This workshop is free; however, reservations are required. Click here to register.

About ‘Stefan Brüggemann. White Noise’
Titled ‘White Noise,’ Mexican-German artist Stefan Brüggemann’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles will feature work created over the past two years. Paintings, installation and neon works on view will address the ways in which information and misinformation saturate our consciousness and shape our understanding of and approach to the world now. Brüggemann’s art layers texts in a distinctive type of controlled chaos, opening a space between legibility and abstraction that yields a sense of doubt and questioning in the process of parsing truth.
