In partnership with Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Hauser & Wirth Somerset is delighted to announce the return of the hugely successful Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre Summer School this August.
The summer school is aimed at children aged 12 – 16 interested in theatre and music. Those eligible are invited to join us at Hauser & Wirth Somerset on Sat 28 May, for a Taster Day with the programme Directors. Participants will have the chance to learn more about the summer school and explore devised theatre making through games, exercises and collaboration.
This taster day is free, but places are limited and must be booked in advance.
Please note that attending the Taster Day will not guarantee a place on the summer school. We ask that all participants are delivered to the gallery and picked up by a responsible adult. Please inform us if you have given permission for your child to travel to and from the gallery on their own. Children should bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks as necessary.

About Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre Summer School
This is an incredible opportunity for young people interested in drama and performing arts to work with professional directors to create an original piece of theatre.
This year’s course participants will devise a new play told through movement, music and theatre. They will take the exhibition ‘Henry Moore. Sharing Form’ as their starting point.
The Summer School will run on weekdays 1 – 12 Aug 2022, 10 am – 5 pm, and culminates in public performances on Thu 11 and Fri 12 Aug 2022, in the Radić Pavilion at Hauser & Wirth Somerset. It is available to young people aged 12 – 16 years. The summer school fee is subsidised at £160 for the two-week course.
