Pumpkin Carving Workshops

  • Fri 26 – Sat 27 October 2018
  • 11am – 4pm

Why not bring along your home-grown pumpkins to our family friendly Pumpkin Carving Workshops? Environmental Artist Stephen Whitehead will be running these hands-on sessions to help you develop the most spectacular carvings, which you will then form part of a collaborative display at Hauser & Wirth Somerset – the central attractions at our annual Pumpkin Festival on Sunday 28 October, 2018. All participants who attend the Pumpkin Festival will receive an award, and you will be able to collect your creation at the end of the event on Sunday, ready for Halloween! Workshops are free, but must be booked in advance. Please bring your own pumpkin. Some pumpkins will be available for you to purchase on the day for a small donation. Join us on Friday 26 October and Saturday 27 October at Hauser & Wirth Somerset. The sessions run for one hour each from: 11 am – 12 pm, 12 – 1 pm, 2 – 3 pm, and 3 – 4 pm.   About Stephen Whitehead Stephen Whitehead works with communities and groups of people, responding to environmental issues. He collaborates with scientists and educators to involve people in creative activities to promote environmental awareness and empathy. He aims to make environmentalism personal and relevant to everyone, rather than being purely academic. He has worked on many commissions and workshops in an educational setting. For example, ‘Where is my Shelter?/ (Wo ist meine zeltbahn?)’ is about our involvement with people, our personal development and our relationships.
