Open Lens: A Screening of Video Works by Anri Sala

  • Tue 25 March 2014
  • 6.30 – 8pm

Hauser & Wirth Somerset is pleased to announce the launch of a series of events in collaboration with Bath Spa University. The inaugural event, which will take place on Tuesday 25 March, will focus on the video works of Anri Sala. Working in a range of media, including film, video, photography and sound installation, Albanian artist Sala explores the relationship between narrative, language, sound and music, often using socio-political settings as a backdrop for his work. For each event, students from Bath Spa University will be invited to curate and present an evening of film and video screenings featuring artists represented by Hauser & Wirth. The screenings will be introduced by the students and conclude with an open discussion focusing on the themes, readings and interpretations of the works shown. Open Lens’ is curated by Roz Bonnet and Sarah Knight, and the open discussion will be led by Professor Mike Tooby, curator and course leader of the Curatorial Practice MA at Bath Spa University.
