Artist Talk: Ewa Monika Zebrowski

Join us for a talk and reading by current artist in residence, photographer Ewa Monika Zebrowski. Zebrowski will speak about her recent limited edition handmade artist’s book ‘twombly, italia’ on American painter, sculptor and photographer Cy Twombly. The book was produced during Zebrowski’s residency at the American Academy in Rome, with the collaboration of the Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio, Gaeta. During the talk she will read a selection of her poems from the book. Ewa Monika Zebrowski’s work touches on the themes of displacement and memory, time and place, the traces we leave behind. She creates visual narratives often inspired by literature, sometimes collaborating with writers and poets. Zebrowski’s work has been shown internationally in over 70 exhibitions, including 26 solo presentations. She has produced 14 artist’s books including ‘remembering brodsky’, ‘tenuta di ricordi’, ‘Sea of Lanterns’, ‘Finding Wyeth’, and most recently, ‘twombly, italia’. Her artist’s books have garnered numerous awards and recognition. Ewa Monika Zebrowski lives and works in Montreal, Canada. She worked in the film industry for 17 years before obtaining a BFA in Fine Arts/Photography from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and an MA in Visual Arts, from l’Université de Québec à Montréal, Montreal, Canada. This is a free event but places must be booked in advance.
