To coincide with our current exhibition ‘The Land We Live In – The Land We Left Behind’ we will be hosting a series of free goat milking demonstrations and cheese making talks with Roger Longman and the team from White Lake Cheese. Roger will be bringing his own beloved herd, a mix of Toggenburg, British Alpine and Saanen goats, to Durslade Farm. Sometimes seen grazing in the grass farmyard where artist Fernando García-Dory and Hayatsu Architects have created a wooden pavilion – a functioning artwork – for the goats to climb on and socialise; you will also have the opportunity to try your hand at milking during one of our Goat Milking Demonstrations. These sessions are suitable for both adults and children. Learn about separating your curds from your whey in our cheese making talks, where Roger will share his expertise on the different styles, milks and techniques involved in their production.
