System Engineer

Hauser & Wirth is one of the world’s leading commercial galleries for Modern and Contemporary art with locations across the UK, USA, Europe and Asia. Based in Zurich, we are looking for a System Engineer.

The System Engineer will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on M365, Azure, and On-Prem Active Directory. Knowledge of macOS client environments and Citrix Workspace is a strong plus. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of IT services, both on-premises and in the cloud, as well as providing strategic direction for ongoing system improvements and expansions.

Candidates must possess strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize, and execute complex IT tasks. Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to collaborate across teams and departments are essential. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, with the capacity to make strategic decisions regarding system optimizations and expansions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft on-Prem environments in conjunction with Azure cloud infrastructure including Virtual Machines, EntraID, networking, and security configurations

• Oversee the administration and configuration of M365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration tools

• Ensure data integrity, security, and high availability of M365 environments

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for macOS and iOS based devices, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues when our support team is unavailable

• If applicable, manage Citrix environments, focusing on virtualization, application delivery, and remote access solutions

• Troubleshoot and optimize Citrix performance when necessary

• Collaborate with IT colleagues to manage global application deployments, or updates to desktop or user applications

Requirements

• Solid experience in a systems engineering role supporting on-Prem Windows server, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and Microsoft 365 environments. Microsoft Professional certifications are a plus

• Basic experience with macOS, including system administration and support

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Hands on and self motivated personality

• Solid understanding of networking protocols (VPN, DNS, DHCP)

• Solid German and English skills, oral and written, are a must
