Stand D13
We return to Art Basel Miami this year with a presentation of exceptional works by some of the gallery’s most distinguished artists—Louise Bourgeois, Frank Bowling, Ed Clark and Philip Guston, to name a few—presented alongside exciting works from artists who have joined the gallery’s program in 2024, such as Nairy Baghramian, Jeffrey Gibson, William Kentridge and Michaela Yearwood-Dan.
Two late career masterpieces by Louise Bourgeois and Philip Guston: ‘Woman With Blue Necklace’ (2005), tenderly rendered, hand-sewn and patched together from cloth, examines the fraught terrain of femininity and motherhood, themes that consumed Bourgeois’ throughout her life, while ‘Two Hearts’ (1978) spans just over six and a half feet and encapsulates the confessional intimacy, introspection and self-revelation that typifies Guston’s later works.
Visitors will also discover captivating new paintings by Rita Ackermann, Mark Bradford, Charles Gaines, Nicole Eisenman, Rashid Johnson, Allison Katz, Christina Quarles, and Avery Singer, alongside new sculptures by Pierre Huyghe and Thomas J Price.
William Kentridge. The Great Yes The Great No
Based on actual events, ‘The Great Yes, The Great No’ takes place aboard an ocean liner bound for Martinique from Vichy France and carrying a who’s who of mid-20th century thinkers. South African artist William Kentridge adds a layer of fiction to his retelling of this wartime voyage.
