Modern Slavery Statement for Hauser & Wirth

This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Hauser & Wirth has taken, and is continuing to take, to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

Hauser & Wirth is a leading international contemporary art gallery that has built a reputation for its dedication to artists and support of visionary artistic projects worldwide. In addition to presenting a dynamic schedule of exhibitions, the gallery collaborates with renowned curators to present museum quality surveys and invests considerable resources in new scholarship and research. A commitment to education underpins the Hauser & Wirth exhibition program.

Hauser & Wirth is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We constantly strive to develop policy and procedures to manage the way we obtain our goods and services to keep our supply chains robust. To date we have had no reports of modern slavery within our organisation nor our supply chains.

Initiatives to Tackle Slavery and Human Trafficking

  • Suppliers: Hauser & Wirth has built long established relationships with suppliers, distributers and contractors that we trust and ensure they comply with Anti-Slavery regulations. We assess high risk spend areas and raise awareness across all staff, from the Board of Directors through to all staff in our places of work to ensure all products and services and sourced and supplied responsibly and ethically.

  • Staff: Our People & Culture departments ensure staff are legally authorized to work in the relevant locations and are paid properly in accordance with their employment terms.

  • Employee training: We conduct training for our staff to recognize and prevent human
    trafficking and modern slavery. Our anti-slavery training covers:

    • Understanding the Modern Slavery Act.

    • How to assess the risk of slavery and human trafficking.

    • How to identify and respond to signs of modern slavery.


Future Steps We are committed to continuously improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
