Exhibition Tour: ‘Fabio Mauri. Amore Mio’ with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev

On the occasion of the exhibition ‘Fabio Mauri. Amore Mio’ at Hauser & Wirth Zurich, Limmatstrasse, please join us for a guided tour with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Director of the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea.

This is a public event and will take place during the opening of the exhibition. No registration necessary. The tour will be held in English.

About the exhibition
Organized with Olivier Renaud-Clément, in close collaboration with Studio Fabio Mauri, ‘Fabio Mauri. Amore Mio’ is the artist’s first solo presentation in Switzerland and sheds light on a period in Mauri’s work during which the seminal Italian artist explored topics pertinent to pop art. The exhibition includes paintings, sculptures and works on paper spanning the early 1950s to the mid 1970s, as well as the installation ‘Amore mio’ (1970), on view for the first time in over 50 years.

About Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev
Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, she has been Director of the Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea since 2016 and Artistic Director of the Fondazione Francesco Federico Cerruti in Turin since 2018. Honorary Guest Professor at the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland since 2021, she directed dOCUMENTA(13) in 2012, which included a large body of works by Fabio Mauri.

Her major publications include the volume ‘Arte povera’ (London, Phaidon Press, 1999), as well as monographs on Alberto Burri (1996), William Kentridge (1998), Janet Cardiff (1999), Pierre Huyghe (2004), Franz Kline (2004), Anna Boghiguian (2017), Gilberto Zorio (2018), Hito Steyerl (2019), Michael Rakowitz (2019), Otobong Nkanga (2023) and Anne Imhof (2023 – forthcoming). She was the author of the first monograph on Fabio Mauri in 1994 and is currently completing his catalogue raisonné.
