On the occasion of Louise Bourgeois’s first exhibition in Hong Kong, Hauser & Wirth has organized a panel discussion featuring leading scholars and museum professionals to shed light on the various facets of her work. Moderated by Shanghai-based critic Shen Qilan, the panel will include the art historian and writer Briony Fer; Jerry Gorovoy, who worked as the artist’s assistant from 1980 to 2010 and is now President of the Foundation that administers her legacy; Philip Larratt-Smith, curator of the current exhibition tour “The Eternal Thread” at the Long Museum, Shanghai and the Song Art Museum, Beijing; Wang Duan, Artistic Director of the Song Art Museum; and Wang Wei, Director of the Long Museum. The range of voices brought together here will offer distinct and complementary perspectives on the art and life of one of the great artists of the 20th and 21st century.
