Screening of ‘Pepperminta’ by Pipilotti Rist

On occasion of the outdoor installation ‘Hiplights (or Enlighted Hips)’, a screening of Pipilotti Rist’s film ‘Pepperminta’ will take place at Hauser & Wirth Menorca. Pepperminta is a vivacious, eternal optimist who sets out to fight for a more humane world together with her best friends: colours and strawberries. The film lasts 1h 24 min and will be screened in German with English subtitles.

About Pipilotti Rist

Pipilotti Rist, a pioneer of spatial video art, was born 1962 in Grabs in the Swiss Rhine Valley on the Austrian Border and has been a central figure within the international art scene since the mid-1980s. Since 1984, Rist has had countless solo and group exhibitions and video screenings worldwide. Her recent solo exhibitions are ‘Behind Your Eyelid’ at Tai Kwun Hong Kong (2022), ‘Big Heartedness, Be My Neighbor’ at The Geffen Contemporary, MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (2021 – 2022), ‘Your Eye Is My Island’ at MoMAK, The National Museum of Modern Art Kyoto (2021) and ART TOWER MITO (2021).

Amb motiu de la instal·lació exterior ‘Hiplights (o Enlighted Hips)’, tindrà lloc a Hauser & Wirth Menorca la projecció de la pel·lícula de Pipilotti Rist ‘Pepperminta’. Pepperminta és una optimista vivaç i eterna que es proposa lluitar per un món més humà juntament amb els seus millors amics: colors i maduixes. La pel·lícula té una durada de 1h 24 min i es projectarà en alemany amb subtítols en anglès.

Sobre Pipilotti Rist

Pipilotti Rist, pionera del videoart espacial, va néixer l’any 1962 a Grabs, a la vall del Rin suís a la frontera amb Àustria i ha estat una figura central dins l’escena artística internacional des de mitjans dels anys vuitanta. Des de 1984, Rist ha realitzat innombrables exposicions individuals i col·lectives i projeccions de vídeos a tot el món. Les seves exposicions individuals recents són ‘Behind Your Eyelid’ a Tai Kwun Hong Kong (2022), ‘Big Heartedness, Be My Neighbor’ a The Geffen Contemporary, MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art de Los Angeles (2021-2022), ‘Your Eye Is My Island’ al MoMAK, al Museu Nacional d’Art Modern de Kyoto (2021) i ART TOWER MITO (2021).
