In celebration of London Gallery Weekend and the exhibition ‘Gary Simmons. This Must Be the Place,’ Hauser & Wirth London invites you to take part in a creative workshop inspired by Gary Simmons.
Continuing our partnership with The Big Draw, we are delighted that they will be running this special event.
These free 1.5 hour workshops (11 am – 12.30 pm and 1.30 – 3 pm) will allow you to explore the main themes of Gary Simmons’ work and how these resonate with your personal experiences. You'll take part in meditative drawing activities and use sketchbooks to capture your thoughts, creativity and inspiration. All materials will be provided.
This event is free, however please book a timed ticket per person in advance. If you are able, we encourage attendees to donate to our 2023 charity partner Brixton Soup Kitchen.

‘Gary Simmons. This Must Be the Place’ is on view through 29 July 2023.
For the artist’s first exhibition with Hauser & Wirth in London, Simmons will present a selection of brand-new paintings and sculptures. In these new works, Simmons continues to use erasure of the image as a powerful and recurring theme, a formal and aesthetic breakthrough technique that has informed much of his work and holds deep cultural significance.
