In Conversation: William Kentridge and Christopher K. Ho 對話: 威廉·肯特里奇與何恩懷

Johannesburg-based artist William Kentridge, in conversation with Christopher K. Ho, Executive Director of Asia Art Archive, discuss Kentridge’s imagined and real connections to Hong Kong, the importance of forgetting, and the treachery of the proper noun.

William Kentridge was born in 1955 in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he currently lives and works. In work made over the past five decades, Kentridge has parsed and questioned the historical record — responding to the past as it ineluctably shapes our present – and in doing so, has created a world that mirrors and shadows our own.

Christopher K. Ho is a speculative artist based in Hong Kong. His practice encompasses making, organizing, writing, and teaching. He serves as Executive Director of Asia Art Archive.

威廉·肯特里奇1955年生於南非約翰內斯堡，至今居住並工作於此。在逾半個世紀的創作生涯中，肯特里奇不斷對歷史展開探討與質疑——他回應過去，因為過去不可避免地塑造了我們的當下，並由此打造出一個與現實互為鏡像的世界。

何恩懷是一位現駐香港的思辯型藝術家。他的創作模式涉及到物件製作、機構性方案、寫作和教學。他現任亞洲藝術文獻庫行政總監。
