Late October is the Indian celebration of Diwali and this year in Somerset it coincides with ‘Bharti Kher. A Wonderful Anarchy’ and the artist's second residency in Bruton.
To honour this important annual festival, we are thrilled to have Bharti Kher hosting her own Diwali Dinner at Hauser & Wirth Somerset to welcome the goddess of wealth and good fortune for the year ahead.
The family cooked Indian menu will take place at Roth Bar & Grill with a dress code of Indian Festive.
Tickets are £40 (£15 under 12) and include prosecco with small Indian bites on arrival, followed by a seated sharing main course and pudding.
About Bharti Kher
Bharti Kher’s art gives form to quotidian life and its daily rituals in a way that reassesses and transforms their meaning to yield an air of magical realism. Now living in New Delhi, India, her use of found objects is informed by her own position as an artist located between geographic and social milieus. Her way of working is exploratory: surveying, looking, collecting, and transforming, as she repositions the viewer’s relationship with the object and initiates a dialogue between metaphysical and material pursuits.
