Please join us for a private view to celebrate the opening of ‘Turning Inwards’ a solo exhibition of sculpture and works on paper by Louise Bourgeois. Shown together for the first time in the ‘Turning Inwards’ exhibition is a series of 38 soft-ground etchings Bourgeois made between 2006 and 2010. These etchings, extraordinarily large in scale, capture the strength and intimacy of the artist’s hand as she drew directly on the copper plates. These important compositions, both figurative and abstract, form a collection of highly personal memories and ideas, interweaving the artist’s reflections on femininity, sexuality, botany, family and infancy. This body of work is placed in dialogue with a small selection of sculptures by Bourgeois from 1970 to 2005, and together they offer a new perspective on her late practice. The Roth Bar & Grill will be open for dinner following the private view. Booking is strongly recommended.
