Nengi Omuku lives and works in Lagos, Nigeria and London, UK. She received her BA in 2010 and MA in 2012 from the Slade School of Art, University College London. Omuku’s first solo institutional exhibition, ‘The Dance of People and the Natural World’ was first mounted at Hastings Contemporary, UK (2024), before travelling to Arnolfini, Bristol, UK (2024). Following this, she was awarded the ACBMT and Arnolfini International Artist Residency Award. In 2026, Omuku will have her first solo institutional exhibition in the US at de Young Museum, San Francisco CA. 

In 2023, Omuku was awarded the Civitella Ranieri Residency in Italy (2024), which followed her residency at Black Rock in Senegal (2022 – 2023). Collections include: Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore MD; The Whitworth, Manchester, UK; Women’s Art Collection, Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, UK; Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach FL; Government Art Collection, UK; and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami FL.
