In celebration of the exhibition ‘Hospital Rooms. Digital Art School’, join us at Hauser & Wirth London for a sensory art workshop with artists Abbas Zahedi and Shepherd Manyika as they experiment with sound and 3D objects.
The workshop will explore different ways to capture sounds and use collage materials to create a playful 3D ensemble of works. The session will feature recorded music and culminate with a collective soundscape by attendees.
Please arrive promptly at 10.30 am, ahead of the session beginning at 10.45 am.
Tickets are free, but must be booked in advance. If you are able, we encourage donations to support Hospital Rooms’ charitable work within NHS mental health hospitals.
About ‘Hospital Rooms. Digital Art School’
In partnership with Hospital Rooms, ‘Digital Art School’ is the final project in our three-year partnership with the arts and mental health charity. The exhibition is a physical manifestation of their Digital Art School initiative, which brings artist-led digital workshops and free art materials to every NHS inpatient mental health site in England. The exhibition will recreate the Digital Art School format in the gallery, delivering live in-house creative sessions hosted by artists such as Abbas Zahedi, Shepherd Manyika and Eileen Cooper RA, as well as beautifully shot art activities projected in cinematic style onto the walls of the gallery hosted by artists and designers including Giles Deacon, Sutapa Biswas and Sarah Dwyer.
The exhibition will be on view from Thursday 22 August — Tuesday 10 September 2024.
