On the occasion of ‘Frank Bowling. Landscape’, Hauser & Wirth West Hollywood hosted ‘Painters on Painting’—an exploratory learning event where artists and students engage in a conversation around painting exhibitions at Hauser & Wirth galleries. The events aim to bring young voices into the conversation on contemporary painting and artistic processes.
Essence Harden, Curator at the California African American Museum, and Ben Bowling, son and co-director of Frank Bowling studio joined by students from ArtCenter College of Design and University of California Los Angeles to discuss Bowling’s work as they explored the exhibitions’ themes and contemporary landscape paintings. The informal conversation between a local curator, professors, students and the artist’s studio provides a resource for wider audiences to access.
