Workshop: Repair Your Ride

Join us for a series of creative workshops led by California-based artists and educators as part of ‘Going Forward with No Brakes’—an Education Lab in celebration of Jason Rhoades’ exhibition DRIVE’.

This month learn how to fix a flat tire with SELA Bicycle Center. Bring your bike and get practical skills to keep you rolling smoothly.

What You'll Learn:

  • Basics of bicycle wheels

  • How to fix a flat

  • Tips to prevent future flats

What to Bring:

  • Your bike or your own wheel

  • Clothing that can get dirty

  • Closed-toed shoes

This workshop is recommended for ages 13 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

‘Going Forward with No Brakes’ is an interactive space and series of programs throughout the duration of ‘Jason Rhoades DRIVE’ exhibition for visitors to consider the significance of car culture in Los Angeles.

About ‘Jason Rhoades. DRIVE’
Since 27 February, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles has dedicated an entire gallery at its Downtown LA location to a yearlong exploration of Rhoades’ art via the subject of cars and car culture. ‘Jason Rhoades. DRIVE’ will unfold over a series of thematic iterations, an ever-changing exhibition of Rhoades’ sculptures, drawings, videos and multiples—enriched by archival materials, public programs and contemporary perspectives.

SELA Bike Center
SELA Bicycle Center is a community-focused Bicycle Shop in Bell, one of the many integral Southeast Los Angeles Gateway Cities. Tracing their roots back to 2016 at the inception of Hollydale Cycling Club. What once started as a simple college project to promote healthier lifestyles through bicycles, has now evolved into fulfilling one of our goals of opening up bicycle shop in our community. Their mission remains the same: To enrich Southeast Los Angeles communities through bicycle education, advocacy and bicycle infrastructure.
