About Jacqueline Burckhardt
Jacqueline Burckhardt trained as a restorer at the Istituto Centrale del Restauro in Rome, studied art history at the University of Zurich and wrote her dissertation on Giulio Romano. From 1984 to 2017 she was co-publisher and editor of the art magazine Parkett, taught at the Accademia di architettura in Mendrisio from 2004 to 2008, and curated site-specific art at the Novartis Campus in Basel from 2005 to 2015. From 2008 to 2016 she was director of the Summer Academy at the Zentrum Paul Klee.
About Nadia Veronese
Nadia Veronese is a senior curator at Kunstmuseum St. Gallen and has been working as a curator at the museum since 2012. In this role Veronese has organized exhibitions with contemporary artists such as Mona Hatoum (co-curator), Filipa César, Alicja Kwade, Loredana Sperini, Magali Reus, Nina Canell, Iman Issa, Siobhán Hapaska, Marie Lund, Grace Schwindt, Camille Henrot and Haris Epaminonda as well as solo exhibitions by the Manor Art Prize winners Beni Bischof, Georg Gatsas, Sebastian Stadler and Martina Morger. Veronese is the editor of numerous publications that document the exhibitions with accompanying essays. Since 2012 Veronese has also been the director of the Kunstverein St.Gallen, where she realized various projects with artists, presentations in public spaces and projects for art education.
About Yasmin Afschar
Yasmin Afschar is a Swiss-Iranian curator and writer based in Zurich, Switzerland and Mainz, Germany. She is the Interim Director of Kunsthalle Mainz and mediator for Nouveaux Commanditaires Suisse, an international initiative for art projects commissioned by citizens. As part of a collective of curators she also co-organizes LE FOYER – In Process, a nomadic talk series focusing on artistic processes. Recent exhibitions include ‘Olga Fröbe-Kapteyn. Deep Knowledge’ and ‘What is it Like to Be a Bat?’ at Kunsthalle Mainz, Germany, 2023; ‘Hannah Villiger. Amaze Me’at Muzeum Susch, Switzerland, 2023; and ‘Emma Kunz Cosmos. A Visionary in Dialogue with Contemporary Art’ at Aargauer Kunsthaus, Switzerland, 2021 and Tabakalera, San Sebastián, Spain, 2022. Recent edited volumes include ‘Emma Kunz Cosmos’ (2021) and ‘Denise Bertschi. Strata. Mining Silence’ (2020). In 2021 Afschar won Asia Society Switzerland’s first Curator Residency at Tai Kwun Contemporary in Hong Kong. Before that she was the curator of AargauerKunsthaus in Aarau, Switzerland from 2018 to 2021.
