Hauser & Wirth is one of the world’s leading commercial galleries for Modern and Contemporary art with locations across the UK, USA, Europe and Asia. Based in London, we are looking for a Global Compliance Officer.

Reports to: CFO

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead the development of compliance initiatives and programs to comply with the respective legal and regulatory obligations in relation to (Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Fraud (internal and external) and Anti-Bribery & Corruption.

  • Improve and maintain policies, risk assessments and procedures.

  • Develop and execute training for Sales staff globally and aid in general compliance awareness for whole business.

  • Assist the Sales Team in gathering information and analysing results to comply with AML rules.

  • Carry out ongoing monitoring/file reviews for existing clients.

  • Handle file reviews of suspicious activity to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures put in place.

  • Identify and inform of any changes to legislation and other regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes to processes.

  • Ensure detailed and prompt investigation of all AML incidents and cases.

  • Manage the resolution of cases through internal and external communications.

  • Maintain a proper register of all incidents reported internally and externally.

  • Aid in the improvement of tools to monitor, analyze, and report suspicious activity.

Required knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the following fields is required for this role: Business Administration, Graduate Diploma in Compliance and AML or CAMS certified

  • Previous working experience as compliance manager for (5) years

  • Fluent in English, additional languages like German or French are desired.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the industry’s regulations and best practices

  • Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite—Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Good analytical skills, confident and self-assured.

  • A self-starter; an ability to think on one’s feet and deal with unexpected challenges

  • Team player skills, i.e. comfortable working with colleagues of all grades and backgrounds

  • Calm under pressure, adaptable and agile in approach

  • Ability to demonstrate decisiveness and sound judgment on a consistent basis.

  • Ability to work flexibly, including working out of office hours occasionally.

  • Hands-on experience with a variety of reporting operations and procedures

  • Good organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.
