‘We Are Strangers’ A Performance Event

  • 24 August 2017

‘We Are Strangers’ was a one-off performance at Hauser & Wirth Somerset in 2017 which responded to the exhibition ‘Rashid Johnson. Stranger’. The experimental showcase was developed over the course of two weeks during the Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre Summer School by a group of young people aged 11 – 16 years old, working with a Musical Director and Theatre Director from Bristol Old Vic. Since opening in 2015, Hauser & Wirth Somerset has run the annual theatre summer school in partnership with Bristol Ol Vic Theatre, as part of the education programme. This year’s course participants will be asked to devise a new play told through movement, music and theatre, which will take Alexander Calder’s exhibition, ‘From the Stony River to the Sky’ as their starting point. Find out more.
