Primary and secondary schools are invited to join Hauser & Wirth Somerset to celebrate The Big Draw Festival 2023 theme ‘Drawing with Senses.’
Inspired by the multidisciplinary Kunsthalle form of ‘GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG’, we invite schools to explore the variety of artwork in the exhibition whilst listening closely to their senses and surroundings. Creating audio recordings of their sensory experiences, schools will explore ways to translate sounds into color, shape and form through drawing.
A morning session (10 – 11.30 am) or afternoon session (2 – 3.30 pm) are available to book on the following dates:
• Tuesday 10 October
• Wednesday 11 October
• Tuesday 17 October
• Wednesday 18 October
• Tuesday 31 October
Each workshop session is allocated on a first come first served basis. To book a place, please contact hwsomersetlearning@hauserwirth.com.
Continuing Hauser & Wirth’s annual partnership with The Big Draw, this event is part of the gallery’s global learning program with events across our locations in Somerset, London, Menorca, Los Angeles, New York and Chililda Leku. All participants are invited to submit their audio recordings to our Learning team to be part of this project throughout The Big Draw Festival period in October. Please be aware that only a small selection will be uploaded to our website.
About The Big Draw Festival
The Big Draw is the world’s largest drawing festival with thousands of drawing activities connecting people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators and each other. The Big Draw theme for 2023, ‘Drawing with Senses’, changes the focus from external to internal, exploring the way we personally process the world and internalise our experiences through our senses. Hauser & Wirth is a Sponsor Partner for The Big Draw Festival 2023.
